How to Get the Most Out of Your Sheet Mask!

Sheet masks are a recommended part of your skin care routine and are suggested to be used about 2 or 3 times a week. There are so many different kinds of face masks that target all of your skincare needs. For reference, our Signature Line features sheet masks that nourish (Beauty Rest’ore), detox (Detox Diva), firm (I Don’t Wanna Grow Up), and brighten (Pre Party Prep). Here are some fun skincare hacks to help elevate your sheet mask experience! 1. Warm up your sheet mask Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean that we’re telling you to put your sheet mask in the microwave! Simply run the mask package under lukewarm water before opening up the packet and applying the mask to your face. Warm temperatures are known for opening up your pores which in turn helps the serum better penetrate the skin. This is actually a well known K-Beauty trend that is popular in Korea for boosting the effectiveness of your sheet mask. Just make sure not to use water that is too hot, because it could change the formula of the mask.  2. Or cool it down… Just like heating it up, lowering the temperature of your face mask can also help elevate your mask’s effectiveness. Don’t be scared to throw your sheet mask package in the fridge. This method is usually recommended to be used during the warmer summer months to cool down and refresh your sun kissed skin. Cooling your sheet mask before applying it can also help with inflammation and reducing the puffiness of your skin. You are more than welcome to cut some cucumbers to put over your eyes while you mask to also help decrease puffiness around your eye area (and there’s no harm in taking some cute cucumber selfies either!). 3. Use a tool  Using a jade roller of gua sha during or after your sheet mask is a fun way to get the most out of your skincare. Using a gua sha can help relieve facial tension, depuff your face, prevent fine lines and wrinkles, tighten your skin, and promote blood circulation. A gua sha or jade roller are also both helpful for working the sheet mask serum into your skin. These are great tools for giving yourself a facial massage and promoting deep product penetration.  4. Don’t throw out the extra serum! The extra serum at the bottom of your sheet mask packet is basically liquid GOLD. Always pat in the extra serum onto your face and neck area to take advantage of all of your sheet mask benefits. Remember to follow up your skin care routine with a moisturizer to help lock in all of that serum power. Your skin will thank you later.  Xo, MaskerAide
