by MaskerAide Beauty |

You may think that when you’re sleeping, your beauty routine is not important. However, sleep actually plays a very important role in your skin’s health. Sleep allows your body to restore itself, and treating your skin overnight can do wonders. And the best part is, we are telling you the easiest ways to wake up to beautiful skin…

WASH YOUR FACE
Washing all the makeup dirt, and oil off your face before bed is super important in maintaining clear and healthy skin. Not washing your face can lead to clogged pores and breakouts. Use our Let’s Face It Hydrating Cleansing Stick to gently remove everything that has been sitting your face.

MOISTURIZE
If you want to wake up with glowing skin, than moisturizer is your bff. Apply an anti-aging cream before bed to banish the fine lines and wrinkles (don't wait until you’re 30, start using anti-aging creams now). Keep a hydrating lip balm on your night stand and slap it on right before you doze off. This will allow you to hydrate your whole body overnight.

SILK PILLOWCASE
Silk pillowcases are the real mvps. Silk is great for your hair as it stops it from getting all tangled up and messy while you sleep, preventing split ends. It also softens fine lines and wrinkles because it doesn’t cause friction with your skin.  Also be sure to wash your pillowcase often to prevent a buildup of bacteria from getting onto your skin. If you think it is time to change but are too tired, just flip your pillowcase over and wash them in the morning!

USE EXTRA PILLOWS
We hate waking up to puffy eyes, no fun. But do you know what is fun? Sleeping with a bed full of pillows! Not only is this fun, but it can also help with our puffy eye situation. By placing some extra pillows under your neck, your head is slightly raised which allows  fluid to drain away from your eyes and face. Oh, and if that doesn’t work, just use our All Eyes On Me Eye Patches when you wake up. Stick them on for 15-20 minutes and BAM you now have hydrated and awakened eyes.

SLEEP ON BACK
We know this may sound hard to you side sleepers, but trust me, your skin will thank you. Sleeping on your side repeatedly puts pressure on your face and leads to fine lines and wrinkles. Do you have a favourite side? Us too, we like the right. But continually sleeping on the same side can actually make your face look lopsided. So let’s just be good girls and sleep on our backs to prevent wrinkles and fine lines. What do you think?
